1st Birthday Contemporary Cake Smash Studio Shoot

My nephew turned 1 years old back in March of this year. I decided to go out on a limb and set up a makeshift studio in my home’s living room to capture this milestone. I let my nephew run the show while we were shooting to ensure we could capture his budding personality.

A Day on the Boston Common

It is SINFUL that I have not shared this beautiful family session from 2021 on the Boston Common. And, yes, it’s “ The Common” not “The Commons.” I learned that the hard way my first semester of college when my professor accosted me for calling the park, “The Commons.” Apparently, adding an S to the name is a tell-tale sign you’re not from Boston… oopsies, caught red-handed!

As a Mother’s Day gift to his wife, Mr. R booked me for a family portrait session in one of their favorite Boston parks. The kids and I climbed old and twisting willow trees and explored the grounds together. I look back on this shoot and remember the feeling of fulfillment and joy I had after I parted ways with the R family. There’s something about that natural curiosity that children have that makes photographing them such a cathartic experience. It forces me to explore the world around me along with them.

A Family Session at Harvard

How lucky am I to shoot a session for the person who pushed me to take photography seriously (who’s also my old boss!) When I worked with Meredith 3 years ago, her youngest daughter was still in her stomach. It was fulfilling to see that simultaneously Meredith’s family has grown and I have grown in such a short amount of time.
